The summer school "Experimental Auctions: Theory and Applications in Food Marketing and Consumer Preferences Analysis" is aimed at learning the fundamentals and the recent advances of experimental auctions. It will provide the appropriate techniques to construct an experimental design, with software applications and workshops regarding specific problems in the fields of food market valuation. It will also provide the appropriate knowledge of the models used in the experimental auction literature for the data analysis. Results interpretation and policy implications will be also discussed.

The course is taught by Rodolfo M. NaygaJayson L. Lusk, Andreas Drichoutis, and Maurizio Canavari.

Lectures are given from Monday July 1 to Saturday July 6, 7 hours per day on 6 weekdays. As a general structure, each day is based on 4 periods of teaching (2 in the morning before lunch break and 2 in the afternoon and early evening), dealing with Theory, Applications, and Tutorial on pc. The last day there will be presentations of participants' research proposals and a city tour.

A certificate will be awarded to all participants. A final exam is scheduled on Saturday July 6 for those who need the certificate of attendance to be associated to a grade in order to ask for credits recognition.

By car

Traveling by car is easy, the city of Bologna is served by several highways.
The city is at the junction of the A1, A14 and A13 highways, and so is easily accessible from anywhere in Italy. The "Tangenziale" is a high traffic road that runs on the northern ring of the city (beware of the peak hours!).
